Background and Discussion: As part of the Clean Streets Safe Neighborhoods initiative, the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) focus area of the Harris County ARPA portfolio identified proactive neighborhood nuisance abatement as a "quick win" for reducing violent crime and increasing quality of life in vulnerable communities. The Neighborhood Nuisance Abatement program is focused on the abatement of unsafe structures in Harris County neighborhoods that pose a health and safety risk to area residents including children. Public Health requested services for the renewal of the RNDI Companies, Inc. contract.
