Background and Discussion:
This Agreement will fund the South Mayde Creek Bypass Channel in the Addicks Reservoir Watershed. The 89th Texas Legislature allocated funds in Senate Bill 1 to the Harris County Flood Control District. Senate Bill 1 was signed by the Governor on June 22, 2025, and will be effective on September 1, 2025. This allocation from the Texas Legislature is being obtained through the Texas Water Development Board. The project in Senate Bill 1 is the South Mayde Creek Bypass Channel.
Expected Impact:
This agreement would fund design and construction of the two sedimentation basins and a channel bypass from Greenhouse Road to Barker Cypress Road. The two sedimentation basins will provide approximately 109 acre-feet of storage volume and are intended to be a centralized location area.
