Request by the Office of County Administration for an Executive Session for discussion and possible approval to appoint Commissioner Lesley Briones, with Commissioner Rodney Ellis as alternate, and to appoint Judge Lina Hidalgo as alternate to Commissioner Adrian Garcia, who was previously appointed, to the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) General Assembly and Board of Directors for a term ending December 31, 2024.

Background and Discussion:
H-GAC is the regional organization through which local governments consider issues and cooperate in solving area wide problems. Representatives to the H-GAC General Assembly and Board of Directors must be elected officials of the Commissioner's Court. For 2024, Harris County can appoint one (1) additional Court member to the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, and two (2) alternates. Terms begin on January 1st and expire on December 31st of each year.
Expected Impact:
The appointments will ensure Harris County's representation on the H-GAC.
