Background and Discussion:
There is lack of safe connections for pedestrian and cyclists between Cullen Park north of I10 and the trail network south if I10. This adversely impacts multi-modal connectivity and active transportation and outdoor recreation in the area. The proposed pathway in this project has enjoyed wide support since it was first proposed in 2003. Since 2020 the project has been championed by the area’s community advocacy 501(c), One Creek West. Over the years it has garnered letters of support from both city council members and county commissioners. Eight utility districts in the surrounding unincorporated Precinct 4 have provided letters of support and are sources for the local match required for a 2025 P4P construction project.
