Background and Discussion:
The overall goal of this program is to reduce commercial motor vehicle crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving vehicles with a vehicle body type of “Semi-Trailer” or “Truck-Tractor” on Harris County roads and increase public information and education on sharing the road with commercial motor vehicles. The grant period is October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. The request to apply was approved by Commissioners Court on April 16, 2026.

Expected Impact:
Reduction of automobile crashes, injuries, and fatalities in Harris County. This grant award requires a cash match of $10,795.00 from the Sheriff’s Office general fund.
