Background and Discussion:
This request is seeking to move forward with the next steps following the completion of the update of the Harris County Truck Route Study/Freight Corridors Plan. Procurement for professional services is needed to support evaluation of the feasibility of opportunities in the southeast area of Harris County. The selected vendor(s) would further the existing and future transportation conditions and provide support for potential opportunities to address freight/truck mobility and safety in and around the Port of Houston.
Expected Impact:
The feasibility studies will further evaluate critical regional transportation links supporting commercial vehicle movements, freight distributions, emergency response, and hurricane evacuation operations. Continued population growth and increased freight demand require feasibility studies to provide technical analysis to support future needs of the region.
