Background and Discussion:
This application, if granted, will replace a heavy-duty internal combustion engine (ICE) Water Truck with an all-electric Zero Emission (ZE) Water Truck, and expand the existing Electrical Vehicle charging infrastructure by adding 3 new Charging Stations. This grant is under Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle program. The District would be reimbursed after all costs have been paid, grant-funded new equipment received, and the heavy-duty ICE Water Truck has been rendered permanently inoperable.
The EPA will fund 65% of the costs for equipment and construction. The required match includes HCFCD 35% share of equipment and construction costs ($191,153), electrical upgrades ($50,000), Project Team costs ($31,920), training costs ($6,080) and EV Charging Station Management System cloud base service ($900).

Expected Impact:
The project benefits include reduced pollution and heavy duty Zero Emission (ZE) training for HCFCD Equipment Operators and HCUS Auto Mechanics.

Alternative Options:
None.
