Background and Discussion:
In response to the destruction wrought by Hurricane Harvey that underscored critical shortages in Harris County’s inventory of affordable homes, Harris County’s Single Family New Construction Program (SFNC) matches individuals and families with opportunities to purchase new affordable homes in growing development throughout the County.
Expected Impact:
Construction of infrastructure will allow a new single family residential community of approximately 60 single family residential home to be constructed on approximately 10.57 acres in Precinct 1 under the Harris County Single-Family New Construction Program.
Alternative Options:
Court may elect to not award the low bidder, and HCED can explore additional options, however this will cause project delays and risk of the program to lose grant funding.
