end
Background and Discussion:
The grant-funded site visits to The Opportunity Center will foster meaningful engagement between youth, community partners, and visiting jurisdictions, promoting cross-sector learning and collaboration. By providing stipends, the initiative ensures equitable participation from individuals who might otherwise face financial barriers, thereby amplifying voices in the dialogue. Grant funds will support 4-6 site visits to The Opportunity Center.
Funds will be used to provide stipends for youth and community partners participating in the visits, cover printing and distribution of educational materials, and offer meals and refreshments to guests. The budget also includes costs for basic equipment and travel/training expenses for the host team. Finally, funds will support planning and follow up consultations with visiting jurisdictions.
Expected Impact:
The grant-funded site visits to The Opportunity Center will foster meaningful engagement between youth, community partners, and visiting jurisdictions, promoting cross-sector learning and collaboration. By providing stipends, the initiative ensures equitable participation from individuals who might otherwise face financial barriers, thereby amplifying voices in the dialogue. The distribution of educational materials will enhance knowledge transfer and support replication of best practices across jurisdictions.
Meals and refreshments will create a welcoming environment conducive to relationship-building, while investments in equipment and host team training will strengthen the Center’s capacity to deliver high-quality programming. Planning and follow-up consultations will reinforce long-term partnerships and facilitate the adoption of innovative strategies in visiting communities. Collectively, these efforts are expected to advance youth-centered approaches, improve service delivery, and catalyze systemic change across participating jurisdictions.
Alternative Options:
Should grant funding not be awarded, Juvenile Probation will allocate general fund resources to support these expenditures.
