Background and Discussion:

Precinct 4, in partnership with Precinct4Forward, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is launching the 2026 Joy 4 Toys Drive and Distribution to support local families during the holiday season by collecting new toys at twelve community centers and two Precinct 4 offices between October 20 and December 4. The initiative will provide 500 toys to children ages 0-17 through three December distribution events-building on last year’s success of collecting 1,094 toys and serving 446 children and 213 families. This effort aligns with Precinct 4’s commitment to economic opportunity and community engagement by reducing financial strain for families and ensuring equitable access to holiday resources.

Expected Impact:

The 2026 Joy 4 Toys Drive and Distribution is expected to provide holiday gifts to approximately 500 children ages 0-17 across Precinct 4, reducing financial strain for families by offering age-appropriate toys valued between $10-$20 and generating estimated household savings of up to $60. Beyond financial relief, the initiative supports youth well-being by offering joy, comfort, and meaningful holiday experiences, particularly for families facing economic challenges. By leveraging Precinct4Forward partnerships, multiple community centers, and expanded distribution logistics, the program aims to strengthen family stability, promote equitable access to holiday resources, and deepen community engagement during the holiday season.
