Request for approval of a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to accomplish the objectives of the Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), delineating responsibilities of the VCTF personnel to formalize relationships between participating agencies and maximize interagency cooperation.

Background and Discussion:
To accomplish the objectives of the Violent Crimes Task Force, Sheriff’s Office personnel will identify and target for prosecution individuals and criminal enterprise groups responsible for violating state and/or federal law, as well as pursue dangerous fugitives where there is or may be a federal investigative interest.
Expected Impact:
The agreement will expand the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) to enhance the effectiveness of federal/state/local law enforcement resources through well-coordinated investigations, seeking the most effective investigative and prosecutorial avenues to conduct and incarcerate dangerous offenders.
