Background and Discussion:

The Neighborhood Nuisance Abatement program is focused on the abatement of unsafe structures in Harris County neighborhoods that pose a health and safety risk to area residents including children. The fee stated will be assessed against the property in the form of a lien.

Expected Impact:

The abatement of the public nuisance will remove public safety and health risks within the community. These orders will have no impact on general funds or Community Development Block Grant funds. The lien will be payable by the owner of the stated property.

Alternative Options:

If Commissioners Court chooses not to approve this order, the cost of the abatement will not be placed as a lien on the property.
