Background and Discussion:
Precinct 2 is seeking to enter into an interlocal agreement with the Clear Lake City Water Authority to share maintenance responsibility for the Exploration Green Trail project. The project consists of trails that extend from Space Center Boulevard to the end of the trail under construction by others (about 800 ft) and a midblock crossing Space Center Boulevard.
Expected Impact:
The construction of this trail will provide recreational benefits to this community. Executing this interlocal agreement will serve as the first step for the execution of this project.
Alternative Options:
The county can refuse to execute the agreement, but this would delay the project and the maintenance responsibility would need to be reassigned to the county.
