Background and Discussion:

This Amendment will provide additional efforts for engineering services needed for the completion of design and construction for Poor Farm Ditch Conveyance Improvements project. This project includes design, bidding, and reconstruction of an existing concrete lined channel between Bellaire Boulevard and University Boulevard in the Brays Bayou watershed.

Expected Impact:

The project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in the Brays Bayou watershed by alleviating property and structural damages to the adjacent communities. This project will ensure the channel is brought to design capacity and to continue to provide drainage to approximately 1,330 acres of the developed watershed.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to select another firm for the additional efforts, which would result in significant delays.
