Background and Discussion:
January 31, 2023, the Commissioner’s Court of Harris County, Texas, approved that certain Agreement between the Harris County Flood Control District, Harris County, Texas, and the Armand Bayou Nature Center, to acquire additional property to be added to the 2,500-acre nature preserve managed by the Center located in Pasadena, Harris County, Texas.
This amendment identifies additional funding sources, sets out responsibilities and contributions of each Party to the project, and includes additional property to be acquired for the project.
Expected Impact:
Land conservation and restoration will help reduce flooding by enhancing natural water absorption and slowing runoff, protecting both ecosystems and communities.
