Background and Discussion:
This project was to purchase and construct a playground structure for Binford Circle Park in Harris County Precinct 4. The project was also to construct a play area with drainage, concrete curb around area with soft landing mulch inside the area. The materials were delayed and the lead time quoted was longer than the contract allowed. To no fault of any party, we are extending the contract days to allow for the extended lead time it took to procure materials and complete the work.
Expected Impact:
This Change in Contract allows Harris County to close this contract with full payment to the contractor for work performed with no fault for material delays incurred.
Alternative Options:
Uphold the original terms and penalize the contractor for items beyond their control.
