Background and Discussion:

Harris County plans to develop Remembrance Area, a signature public space of national significance located within Houston’s Downtown Court Complex, spanning three city blocks. The project aims to educate visitors on the legacy of enslavement, oppression, and freedom movements, connecting these historical narratives to current inequities and inspiring a commitment to equity and justice. The project will incorporate public art, narrative tools, and strategic design to reflect its mission, while engaging stakeholders through community collaboration.

This action will allow Parsons Water & Infrastructure Inc to provide professional engineering services for the project.
