Background and Discussion:

Project ID Z100-00-00-X331 is located within the Addicks and Barker Reservoir watersheds in Harris County, spanning Precincts 3 and 4. The project limits include multiple stormwater channels totaling approximately 10,000 linear feet that provide drainage for several subdivisions and convey flows to downstream channels out falling to T100-00-00 and U100-00-00 within the Addicks and Barker Reservoirs. Inspections conducted following Hurricane Harvey in 2017 identified significant sediment deposition within these channels as a result of the declared disaster. To ensure continued and effective stormwater conveyance from surrounding neighborhoods, this project will restore the affected channels to their pre-storm form and hydraulic capacity, returning them to the condition that existed prior to August 2017.

Expected Impact:

The intent of this project is to ensure continued and effective stormwater conveyance from surrounding neighborhoods, this project will restore the affected channels to their pre-storm form and hydraulic capacity, returning them to the condition that existed prior to August 2017.

Alternative Options:

The alternative is not to do the project, but that would result in an increased potential for flooding of the neighborhoods located upstream of the reservoir.
