Request by the Office of County Administration for approval to accept from the Houston Advanced Research Center grant funds in the total amount of $50,000, with no required match, for the Solar For All Program.

Background and Discussion:
In recognition of the increased administrative workload due to Solar For All (SFA), the Energy Foundation granted $100,000 to the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) and $50,000 to Harris County to provide support to the two organizations as EPA works through the final stages of approving the Texas Solar For All grant. The Energy Foundation donated the full $150,000 to HARC with the express instruction to redirect $50,000 to Harris County for use on SFA work. OCA will use these funds to supplement staff and consulting costs incurred in Q1 of FY2025.
Expected Impact:
These funds will allow OCA to cover costs incurred by SFA work and to potentially fund needed short term consulting work associated with SFA.
Alternative Options:
If Court chooses to not pass this item, OCA will move forward without access to these funds.
