Background and Discussion:
Harris County Precinct 4 has requested that the Office of the County Engineer manage the study, design and construction of approximately 4,800 LF of a recreational trail along HCFCD channel T103-00-00 and a new pedestrian bridge over HCFCD Channel T103-01-00 within the Memorial MUD boundaries.
Expected Impact:
This project would greatly enhance the community by providing connectivity to existing network of hikes and bike trails providing greater opportunities for residents and surrounding community to enjoy the benefits of additional recreation options. The project would also provide a safer alternative for residents to walking and biking on major roadways and would greatly enhance and revitalize the otherwise underutilized area along the banks of the channels.
Alternative Options:
Without this project, the proposed community enhancements and County strategic plan goal will not be realized as requested by Precinct 4.
