Background and Discussion:
The project is a proposed regional stormwater detention basin to be constructed on the site of the former Arbor Oaks Subdivision near the confluence of White Oak Bayou (E100-00-00) and Vogel Creek (E121-00-00). This project will create stormwater detention volume within the White Oak Bayou watershed. The purpose of this change order is to increase pay items for inlet removal and sanitary sewer pipe.
Expected Impact:
The Arbor Oaks Detention Basins encompass 69.9 acres in size and are anticipated to generate approximately 431 acre-feet of flood storage detention volume providing flood mitigation and flood damage reduction benefits to Harris County residents.
Alternative Options:
Alternatives to authorizing this amendment include canceling the existing contract and seeking additional services to complete the necessary work or removing the work from the scope of the project. These options would create substantial project inefficiencies and delays in completing the necessary work.
