Background and Discussion:

This grant supports Harris County Public Health’s continued implementation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) Local program. Year 4 of the five-year award covers September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027. The project focuses on overdose prevention and surveillance, using mortality, clinical, and related data to identify trends and inform prevention activities, including education, linkage to care, community-based overdose prevention, and partnership development.

Expected Impact:

The Year 4 continuation of this grant will support ongoing overdose surveillance and prevention activities in Harris County through partnerships with local agencies and community organizations. Grant funds will also support substance use prevention efforts with community partners. Additionally, funds will support staff dedicated to implementing the project and carrying out required grant activities.
