Background and Discussion:

The project is part of the call for projects application in 2023. The feasibility study was completed. The project consists of a 4-mile long, 10-foot-wide shared use path through an existing CenterPoint easement. This will provide recreational opportunities, as well as safe transportation methods. Harris County is responsible for funding only, Houston Parks Board LGC, Inc. is designing the project. The project is estimated to cost $1,805,000.00 in which the County will contribute $1,480,000.00.

Expected Impact:

This project will increase the transportation options, as well as create a safe walking and biking path in the neighborhood.

Alternative Options:

Court may elect to not move forward, and Harris County can explore additional options, however this will cause project delays.
