Project Description:
The project aims to purchase new operational vehicles and equipment for Harris County Commissioner Precinct 4.
Given the aging state of the current fleet and equipment, this project is needed to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the expansion of the Precinct’s service area resulting from boundary changes raises the need for additional new vehicles and equipment to meet the growing demands of operations.

Justification & Alternatives:
In alignment with the new County policy on non-voted commercial paper, we seek an allocation of $1,015,000 in FY26 for the acquisition of vehicles and equipment. With Precinct 4's expansion to 62 parks (an additional seven), there is a continued demand for operational equipment. The current equipment capacity falls short, hindering our ability to meet increased maintenance needs. Acquiring new vehicles and equipment is essential to reducing reliance on older, frequent maintenance-prone machinery, ensuring efficient operations and proper upkeep of our extensive park portfolio, as well as ensuring adequate support to the community in the case of emergency operations.
