Background and Discussion:
The project includes an underground storm sewer system and a wet bottom detention basin. Project also include full-width roadway pavement reconstruction, sidewalk reconstruction and widening, and joint and crack cleaning and sealing throughout the North Forest Subdivision.
The change in contract includes the following:
The line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun, underrun quantities and add new line items to the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The increase in quantities for existing line items 13, 15, 48, 106, 127, and 131 for an addition in the amount of $22,085.92.
• The decrease in quantities for existing line item 41 for a deduction in the amount of $154,834.42.
New Line Items:
• Add a new line Item 188 - Install of 18-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) for an addition in the amount of $5,626.40.
• Add a new line Item 189 - INSTALL WROUGHT IRON FENCE AROUND DETENTION BASIN for an addition in the amount of $154,834.42 and 35 calendar days.
The above additions and deduction result in a net change in the amount of $27,712.32 and 35 calendar days.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the North Forest subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the scope of work.
