The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with The Houston Museum of African American Culture to commission a mural titled “Garden of Hope: A Tropical Rainforest.” This mural will be painted on a 12ft x 200ft exterior wall and will be completed in 20 sections, each measuring 10ft x 12ft. The project will be carried out during weekly 5-hour classes, with two classes held per week, each with 12 participants. Over the course of 12 months, 84 women will take part in the project. This project is designed to empower the participants through artistic expression, healing, and collaboration, while contributing to a large-scale artwork that symbolizes growth, transformation, and hope.
