Background and Discussion:
The Harris Center will provide mental health treatment, intellectual development disabilities, substance use disorder treatment, competency restoration and discharge planning services to individuals determined incompetent to stand trial within HCSO of the JBCR program. The Harris Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic by the State of Health and Human Services Commission.
Expected Impact:
The proposed program expansion will further reduce the number of people in the Harris County Jail who are on the state hospital waitlist.
