Background and Discussion:

No Trafficking Zone (NTZ) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and elimination of human trafficking.  Their mission is to disrupt and dismantle human trafficking by creating No Trafficking Zones that implement high-risk penalties and crimes for predators that prey on children and adults.  No Trafficking Zone provide resources, and education to support leaders, businesses, community members, and law enforcement to ensure the safety of vulnerable children and adults, through public awareness, implementing legislation, and advocacy,

Expected Impact:

The donated semi-formal and formal dresses, 3 cases of caps, and two vanities, have an estimated retail value of $12,300.00.

The various donated items will provide participants in the Threads, printing and creative programs at HCYV with meaningful, hands-on opportunities to develop vocational skills in design, styling, merchandising, and product customization.  These resources will enhance program capacity by allowing youth to engage in real-world applications of their training, build confidence, and produce tangible products that reflect their creativity and growth.  Ultimately, the donation supports positive youth development, strengthens workforce readiness, and contributes to successful reentry outcomes by equipping participants with practical skills and a sense of accomplishment.

Alternative Options:

Supplies would have either not been purchased or a smaller order of items would have been purchased using the Harris County General Fund should this donation not be accepted.
