Background and Discussion:

Precinct 4 is partnering with The MolinaCares Accord to provide community-based health and family wellness programming for Harris County residents. Through this collaboration, Molina will deliver three independently operated programs: the Grandparents Social Club, Moms Club, and Community Baby Showers, each designed to promote health education, social connection, and family well-being. The agreement term is until April 1, 2027, with two (2) one-year renewal options.

The collaboration aims to strengthen community support networks by providing educational workshops, wellness activities, peer engagement opportunities, and access to community resources for grandparents, expectant parents, and families with young children. Programs will incorporate interactive learning experiences and culturally responsive services that encourage healthy lifestyles and improve family stability. All services will be provided at no cost to participants or Harris County.

Expected Impact:

The MolinaCares collaboration is expected to improve health literacy, family engagement, and social connectedness among Harris County residents. Grandparents will benefit from opportunities for social interaction and health education, while expectant mothers and families with young children will gain access to valuable resources that support maternal wellness, child development, and family stability.

Community Baby Showers will provide essential prenatal and postpartum education while connecting families to local social service organizations and support networks. Collectively, these initiatives are designed to reduce isolation, increase access to health information, and foster stronger, healthier communities throughout Precinct 4.
