Background and Discussion:

This grant is the 3rd of 3 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support the MAAPnext effort.  This grant includes funding for post-preliminary activities for the MAAPnext effort which have yet to start because the Preliminary data for MAAPnext has not yet been released by FEMA.  This grant also includes funding for Project Management and Outreach activities which will remain necessary for the duration of the MAAPnext project.  We are requesting a 2-year extension to the Period of Performance, to increase the local funding with unspent local funds remaining from the first 2 MAAPnext grants in the amount of $810,737, and to adjust the budget to move funds from completed tasks to ongoing and future tasks.

Expected Impact:

We will be able to continue to do MAAPnext work through September 30th, 2026, and update the grant budget to better reflect expenditures on completed tasks and estimated remaining effort on ongoing and future tasks.

Alternative Options:

The alternative would be that the period of performance ends on September 30, 2024, and the Flood Control District forfeits remaining FEMA grant funds.
