Background and Discussion:

Traffic signals are installed to enhance the overall operation of intersections and to support safer, more efficient pedestrian movements. The intersection of Grissom Road and Bay Area Boulevard has experienced operational challenges that can be mitigated through signalization.

Expected Impact:

Design and construction of a traffic signal at this location will improve traffic flow, reduce delays, and provide safer, more accessible conditions for pedestrians. These improvements are expected to enhance mobility for all users of the intersection.

Alternative Options:

This intersection currently operates with minor-street stop control and leaving it unsignalized would forgo the operational and pedestrian safety benefits that a traffic signal would provide.
