Background and Discussion:

Provide improvements to the pedestrian realm along both Sides of Freeport Street from IH-10 to North of Alderson Street.

Changes include reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction with the estimated quantities included for bidding purposes as follow:

-                     A small retaining wall is needed along Freeport Street new sidewalk due to an existing grate inlet being very close to the new sidewalk causing a drop-off hazard. - $1,800.00 - 0 days

-                     An existing PVC drainpipe that dumped into the roadway gutter needed to be redirected into the back of an existing manhole. - $2,500.00 - 0 days

-                     The original plans had many design issues that caused several constructions delays due to redesigns needed to match existing field conditions before the work could be performed by the contractor, so a 68-day time extension is needed and justified. - $0.00 - 68 days

-                     Final adjustments. -$-37,622.48 - 0 days

Expected Impact:

Changes allow for addition of new bid items and days to complete the project in accordance with the original

intent of the project and in compliance with precinct requests.
