Background and Discussion:

The 2025 Pride in Business, organized by the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, is a signature luncheon event that will bring the community together to celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of the Marriage Equality Supreme Court Ruling and honor the businesses, organizations, and leaders driving inclusion and economic empowerment. The event will allow for the department to connect with community leaders, business owners, and allies in the region.

Expected Impact:

This event will provide an excellent opportunity for community engagement. Attending and sponsoring the 2025 Pride in Business event will allow DEEO to contribute to and support the members of the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and local M/WBE’s. This involvement will facilitate connections with local businesses and support their economic growth.

Alternative Options:

Commissioners Court can choose not to approve this sponsorship; failure to approve the sponsorship will impact DEEO’s ability to engage with this community of business and community leaders.
