Background and Discussion:

This amendment includes a variety of changes to the design including the addition of an interim right turn lane at the Grand Parkway, a phase 2 environmental site assessment, as well as modifications to the traffic signal designs due to a recent alignment adjustment.

Expected Impact:

This amendment will allow the construction of an interim right turn lane to improve traffic flow at the Grand Parkway. The phase 2 environmental site assessment includes soil sampling that will determine if any soil near the gas station in the project limits has been contaminated. The amendment will also allow the traffic signals to be adjusted to reflect the recent alignment change.

Alternative Options:

An alternative would be to not design the interim right turn lane, not to conduct the phase 2 environmental site assessment, or not to modify the traffic signals to reflect the new alignment all resulting a less than desirable project.
