Background and Discussion:
As part of the development in the area, a traffic impact analysis was conducted and submitted to Harris
County Permits for review and approval. The aforementioned performed analysis warranted a traffic signal at
the intersection of Timber Forest Drive and Driveway 1, which the developer committed to construct.
Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC to provide electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance operations of the intersection of Timber Forest Drive and Driveway 1.
Alternative Options:
All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy Houston
Electric, LLC. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or to not install traffic signals
at the intersection. Both options will negatively impact operations and increase delay of the intersection.
