Background and Discussion:

The Parkway Forest Subdivision is located in Precinct 1, northeast Harris County, south of Tidwell Road and east of C E King Parkway. The existing drainage system consists of concrete curb and gutter, and six outfalls that release directly into HCFCD Channel P122-00-00. The scope of project includes construction of underground drainage improvements, stormwater detention basin, and concrete pavement. UES Professional Solutions 44, LLC will provide construction materials testing services to support the project in construction.

Expected Impact:

This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.

Alternative Options:

Construction materials testing is required by state law.  Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor or cancelling this construction project.
