Background and Discussion:

The Sierra Ranch Drainage project is in Northeast Harris County in Precinct 1. More specifically, it lies to the Southwest intersection of Tidwell Rd and East Beltway 8. The scope of work for this utility agreement includes the excavation and relocation of an existing CenterPoint electric conductor line crossing a proposed detention outfall RCP. An expected 398 ft of line will be buried 8.5ft deep to ensure it is not in conflict with the proposed outfall. The electrical line is in a 14’ Utility Easement. The relocation work is being performed to accommodate the drainage improvement project.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the community. This utility agreement is a step in the process to reduce the financial, physical, and emotional burden flood damage places on homeowners and will reduce the financial impact of recovery costs to the Sierra Ranch Project area and Harris County.

Alternative Options:

The only option is to have both parties execute this Utility Construction Services Agreement.
