Background and Discussion:

The purpose of this project is to achieve flood reduction benefits in the Cloverleaf area, that will build on the previous N100-00-E001 project.

Expected Impact:

The proposed Cloverleaf area ultimate project will enhance the stormwater conveyance by adding a large subsurface box culvert and improving earthen roadside ditches within the neighborhood. Modeled analyses reveal flooded structures stem from sheet flow conditions, with flood risks compounded by insufficient drainage capacity and aging infrastructure. Ultimate drainage improvements have been recommended for this area which include:

 - Improvements to the internal ditch system,

- The addition of a stormwater trunk line to serve as a centralized drainage “artery” with

lateral tie-ins from roadside ditches, and

- the addition of a detention basin to attenuate flow increases to Carpenters Bayou

Alternative Options:

No action on Cloverleaf drainage improvements - part 2 will result in the continued risk for flooding for the area.
