title
Request for approval to host the Linkage to Care Workshop on February 27, 2025 in the total amount of $59,585.
end
Background and Discussion:
The purpose of the Linkage to Care Workshop is to equip healthcare providers, clinicians, and community members with evidence-based strategies to improve overdose prevention, harm reduction, and linkage to care. This workshop will focus on the critical importance of early intervention and will provide participants with actionable tools and insights to enhance health outcomes. Supported by Overdose Data to Action (OD2A)-sponsored educational initiatives, the workshop is designed to meet the performance requirements of the OD2A-Local grant, fostering collaboration and providing resources to better address the overdose crisis.
Expected Impact:
The expected impact of the Linkage to Care Workshop is to strengthen the ability of healthcare providers, clinicians, and community members to address the overdose crisis effectively. Through a focus on early intervention, the workshop aims to prevent overdoses by equipping participants with actionable tools and insights. Another key goal of the workshop is to enhance the linkage to care for individuals affected by substance use disorders. In addition to improving health outcomes, the workshop will foster collaboration among healthcare providers, clinicians, and community members, creating a more coordinated and supportive network.
Alternative Options:
If this workshop is not approved, we risk being out of compliance with the grant work plan, which mandates hosting workshops and educational sessions focused on the three key areas outlined in the grant. These areas-overdose prevention, harm reduction, and linkage to care-are essential for fulfilling the objectives of the OD2A-Local grant. Non-compliance may result in the inability to meet performance requirements, jeopardizing funding and the continuation of critical initiatives designed to address the overdose crisis.
