Background and Discussion:

The Transportation Policy Council (TPC) provides policy guidance and overall coordination of the transportation planning activities within the eight-county Metropolitan Planning Organization region, which consists of Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller counties. Each year, Harris County Commissioners Court may select and appoint representatives to the TPC. Terms begin on January 1st and expire on December 31st of each year.

Expected Impact:

Appointments to the two remaining positions (primary and alternate) will ensure the continuity of Harris County’s representation on the TPC. The Court previously appointed Commissioner Adrian Garcia, with alternate delegate Milton Rahman, as Harris County’s first primary member.
