title

Request by the Sheriff’s Office for approval to temporarily transfer general funds in the amount of $100,000 for the FY 2026 Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center grant.

end

Background and Discussion:

This temporary transfer will support the administrative aspects of TAG Center operation until the FY2026 award is received. This grant has no statutory cash match requirements and will require no local discretionary funding.

Expected Impact:

The Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) grant program for local governments administered by the Office of Public Safety through the Office of the Texas Governor, supports regional, multidisciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through the coordination of gang prevention, intervention, and suppression activities across the state.

Alternative Options:

If this temporary transfer is not approved, it will disrupt administrative services for the Houston TAG Center.
