Background and Discussion:

Coastal Lease Agreement between the Texas General Land Office and Harris County is for recreational facilities that are placed with submerged lands owned by the state of Texas.  This includes bulkheads, riprap, piers and boat launches located within state owned submerged lands and utilized for areas designated for public use.  This renewal will be for a ten (10) year term.

 

Expected Impact:

This is a no-cost renewal with the understanding that Harris County Precicnt 2 Park Department will continue to maintain the existing facility located within the submerged lands (Piers, boat ramps and riprap) for public use under the existing Precinct 2 Parks Department budget.

 

Alternative Options:

There is no Alternative Option.  No action would invalidate the agreement and require the Precinct to remove all public amenities located within the submerged lands (piers, boat ramps and any erosion protection) from the park.
