Request for approval to execute a service outlet location statement for installation of an electric meter with CenterPoint Energy, LLC and authorize the County Auditor to pay monthly bills for 4702 Lauder Road, Houston, Texas 77039-3620 (Intersection of Vickery Street and Lauder Road) for electrical power serving a traffic signal, UPIN 22102MF2G801, Precinct 2.
end
Background and Discussion:
Intersection Improvement - Vickery Street at Lauder Road - 2021 is a Capital Improvement Project to increase pedestrian safety and enhance traffic movements at the existing signalized intersection. The service outlet location statement is needed to establish electrical service from CenterPoint Energy to power the traffic signal.
Expected Impact:
Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to establish electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the safety and operation of the intersection of Vickery Street at Lauder Road.
Alternative Options:
All Traffic Signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or not install/remove the traffic signal from the intersection. Both options pose a public safety concern and will impact the operation and increase delay of the intersection.
Alignment with Goal(s):
_ Justice and Safety
_ Economic Opportunity
_ Housing
