Background and Discussion:

This grant would enable the Sheriff’s Office to hire a dedicated Community Outreach Coordinator, as well as a GIS Specialist, to work alongside community partners to reduce crime and increase public safety.  Grant funds would also be used for overtime hours by deputies to bolster community policing efforts.   The grant period is October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2026.

Expected Impact:

This grant project seeks to reduce the amount of violent crime occurring at crime hot spots through community engagement and data-driven law enforcement.
