Background and Discussion:

The HIV Prevention Program grant allows Harris County Public Health staff to conduct HIV Prevention activities such as free HIV rapid testing and Prep prevention treatment services. These services are provided to all eligible patients living in Harris County Communities.

Expected Impact:

With this amendment, the HIV Prevention Program will continue to aim to reduce HIV/STI transmission in Harris County’s at-risk population (aged 18-35 in high-risk zip codes), crucial in light of Harris County's alarming rate of new HIV cases, far surpassing state and national trends. The program addresses the urgent need for targeted interventions to combat the escalating public health crisis, positioning Harris County at the forefront of efforts to address the HIV/STI epidemic.
