Background and Discussion:

Precinct 3 intends to provide a community center as part of a larger plan to redevelop existing Mathews Park. The new 1-story community center will include surface level parking and walking only trail adjacent to the parking lot. The Scope of the project to replace the existing building with a new building to better serve the community and includes Architectural Services needed from Design Development through Construction Administration to complete the project.

Expected Impact:

This will create a community center at this location.

Alternative Options:

If the court declines to approve the programming request, then the neighborhood will have the existing community building, which is currently only open by appointment, and not large enough for the needs of community members.
