Background and Discussion:

As a part of the Flood Controls District’s maintenance operations, a variety of projects are undertaken to perform preventative maintenance as well as corrective actions for the Federal Channels.  The Federal Channels encompass 66.6 miles of channels from White Oak, Brays, Sims, Vince, and Little Vince Bayous.  This agreement is needed to provide professional services related to annual inspection and reports, design and construction phase services associated with the Federal Maintenance Program, as required by U.S. Corps of Engineers.

Expected Impact:

This agreement for Professional Services will allow the Flood Control District to provide on-call engineering services in compliance with the U.S. Corps of Engineers.  These services cover the annual inspection and assessment reports, design of repair projects and construction phase services for the Federal Maintenance Program.

Alternative Options:

No other alternatives were considered as the program is required for compliance with the U.S. Corps of Engineers maintenance agreement.
