Request for approval to execute a Service Outlet Location Statement for installation of an electric meter with CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC and to authorize the County Auditor to pay monthly bills for 21102 ½ West Lake Houston Parkway, Humble, Texas 77346 (intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway at King’s River Drive) for electrical power serving a traffic signal, Traffic Signal - Rebuilds of Five locations on West Lake Houston Parkway, UPIN 23103MF2TM01, Precinct 3.

Background and Discussion:

Traffic Signal - Rebuilds of Five locations on West Lake Houston Parkway is a project to rebuild existing traffic signals along the West Lake Houston Parkway corridor. The service outlet location statement is needed to establish electrical service from CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC to power a rebuilt traffic signal.

Expected Impact:

Approval of the service outlet location statement will allow CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC to establish electrical service to the traffic signal, which is needed to enhance the operation of the intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway at King’s River Drive.

Alternative Options:

All traffic signals require a power source, which is typically obtained through CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC. Alternative options are to place a generator, which is not reliable, or to not install a traffic signal at the intersection. Both options will negatively impact operations and increase the delay of the intersection.
