Background and Discussion:

The third memorandum of understanding (MOU) mirrors the first MOU that was approved by Commissioners Court on November 9, 2021.Vera has received funding from multiple private foundations to support the progress of immigration services. As part of this initiative, Vera offers technical assistance to participants, including Harris County. Harris County has been actively engaged in the project since November 9, 2021. Both Harris County and Vera are committed to maintaining their involvement in providing immigration legal services. In accordance with this shared commitment, each party is dedicated to fulfilling their respective tasks as outlined in the following details. The new term established in this MOU runs from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

 

Expected Impact:

The expected impact entails providing uninterrupted support throughout the contract duration, offering comprehensive technical assistance and continued administration of ILSF. No fiscal impact to the County is anticipated.
