Background and Discussion:

The County released an RFP in late 2020 to solicit applications from service providers, organizations, and researchers to implement a three-year program.

Rupani Foundation was chosen to support parent training and wraparound services for families across Harris County. The program will expand the number of families knowledgeable in child and brain development in Harris County which will in turn support the social emotional and academic skills of young children in under resourced and first generation and immigrant communities.

After less than a year of program implementation, Rupani Foundation is requesting to adjust their budget to accurately support families served and program facilitators.

Expected Impact:

For a no cost amendment, Rupani Foundation will be able to reserve more funding for family support resources, add additional administrative staff to help with expand capacity and reallocate funding from underspent expenses.

Alternative Options:

Rupani Foundation will not be able to adequately support new staff, new families and expansion of services with their budget as it is currently written.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Housing

_ Public Health
